IT WAS HAILED as “the future of chess” by GM Gary Kasperov at its debut on ESPN2’s 2003 Man vs. Machine broadcast. The T1 GrandMaster Chessboard features a unique rotating platform. This platform allows a player to easily pivot the Board 180° to view and/or play the opposing perspective.
While in locked or combat mode, the Board functions as a normal
chessboard. Unlocked, in evaluation mode, the Board turns quietly and smoothly, coming to rest again every 180°—a thought revolution.
Casual players, serious students, even masters will find self-play, post-combat analysis, the study of historically significant games and complex openings, etc., much easier. The ability to effortlessly shift perspectives—viewing the field from either side’s point of view—facilitates gaining insight into strategies and tactics, accelerating the overall learning curve while enhancing the enjoyment of the game.
